Greg Byrne, PT, DPT, is a physical therapist and the Clinical Director at NJ Spine and Wellness in East Brunswick, New Jersey. He believes that successful rehabilitation requires teamwork from both the therapist and the patient through constant communication that is directed toward returning the patient to their specific goals. He preaches that retraining proper movement mechanics and neuromuscular recruitment is paramount in ensuring a patient not only recovers but also stays healthy post-therapy.
Dr. Byrne completed his undergraduate schooling at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut, where he received his bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2011. He then attended Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2015.
Dr. Byrne completed two clinical experiences as part of his schooling. He worked at Easter Seals-Export and then began at Human Motion Rehabilitation. He is interested in continuing his education with courses in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Great Lakes Manual Therapy, and Mulligan’s Mobilization with Movement.
Dr. Byrne has an extensive background in his field of practice. He’s worked in various different clinics and health care settings, including Southern Ocean Physical Therapy, Premiere Orthopedics, UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside Hospital, and HCR ManorCare. During these years, Dr. Byrne gained invaluable hands-on experience in treating and evaluating patients, managing support groups, and developing treatment programs for various conditions.
Dr. Byrne is a native of East Brunswick, New Jersey. Outside of therapy, he loves to spend time with his friends and family, especially his brother, Sean. He also enjoys going to sporting events to cheer on the Knicks, Giants, and Devils.
